This class teaches Tarot basics as a self-guidance tool. Learn how to select a tarot deck that best suits your style, learn the meanings of the Tarot cards, and develop your own intuition using each card's symbolism to understand its significance for you as an individual. In this class you will be introduced to the many layers of tarot reading which include astrology, numerology, elemental energies, archetypes, color, movement and more. We will also cover how to use a few easy tarot spreads for seeking clarity and direction to everyday questions.

Advice for Selecting the Ideal, Beginner’s Tarot Deck
While some believe that a Tarot deck should pick you (ie. be given to you as a gift), I advise selecting your own deck. If you are new to journeying with the tarot here are some important things to keep in mind when choosing your cards.
- First and foremost- Do you feel an instant connection to the cards?
- Does the deck contain both Minor and Major Arcana (or Trump) cards? (It helps to familiarize yourself beforehand with traditional tarot imagery of the Hero’s Journey)
- Are there headings on the cards and if so, are they clear to you (avoid Roman numerals if they are difficult for you to interpret easily)?
- Are there four distinguishable suits within the Minor Arcana clearly labeled (pentacles/coins, wands/clubs/staffs, cups/hearts, swords)?
- Are the colors variant and vivid?
- Do the cards depict people? (If you are a beginner this will be helpful for your learning)
- Is there enough symbolism on the individual card illustrations without being too complex or chaotic?
- Can you get a sense of movement and stillness, the four seasons, masculine and feminine energies from the cards?
- Do the cards feel right in your hands in terms of size, thickness, and overall quality and durability?
- Are the cards part of a set including a book? (This will ultimately be helpful although I strongly recommend you first connect with your cards without relying on any reference materials)
- If you decide to purchase your cards online be sure to look at plenty of images and read reviews carefully.
